"Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me, Jn 14:1

My dearest Co-Workers, Active and Sick & Suffering, Lay MCs and Volunteers,

The theme of our Mother’s canonization has been chosen: “Mother Teresa, carrier of God’s tender and merciful love." Many of us have personally experienced God’s love through our contact with Mother. We remember how she led the people into the recitation of the peace prayer, “Lord, make me a channel of Your peace."

She declared that God is the origin of love , of truth, of forgiveness, of faith, of hope light and joy. Her Message and her life was to give God’s unconditional acceptance and mercy especially to those who could not believe or did not want to believe that they are loved by God. Mother was untired in putting love into a living action by feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and burying the dead. Spiritual works of mercy became her way of life: instructing, advising consoling, comforting, forgiving and bearing wrongs patiently.

May our Mother obtain for us the gift of the Holy Spirit that He may form us into carriers of God’s tender and merciful love. The Archbishop of Calcutta Most Rev. Thomas D’ Souza has approved the following prayer in preparation, for Mother’ s canonization: :

Lord Jesus, merciful Face of the Father, you came to give us the Good News of the Father’s mercy and tenderness. We thank you for the gift of our dearest Mother, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, who will be canonized in this Jubilee Year of Mercy. You chose her to be your presence, your love and compassion to the brokenhearted, the unwanted, the abandoned and the dying. She responded wholeheartedly to your cry, ‘I Thirst,’ by the holiness of her life and humble works of love to the poorest of the poor. We pray, through her intercession, for the grace to experience your merciful love and share it in our own families, communities and with all our suffering brothers and sisters. Help us to give our “hearts to love and hands to serve” after the example of Mother Teresa. Lord Jesus, bless every member of our family, our parish, our diocese, our country, especially those most in need, that we all may be transformed by your merciful love. Amen.

I heartily thank all of you for your prayer and condolence for the loss of our sisters in Aden, Yemen. I have experienced the power of your love and support during the last weeks. Our Holy Father expressed his condolences to our sisters at Dono di Maria, Vatican, on his unannounced visit on Saturday, 5 Mach 2016. Please continue to pray for the sisters and people in the war torn countries, that the Lord may protect them especially from fear and discouragement. Till now, Father Tom SDB has not been found. We must not slacken but continue to intercede for him and his safe return.

Let us contribute to bring peace in these countries by our generous effort to be examples of peace and carriers of God’s tender and merciful love wherever we are.

I entrust you to the prayers of Our Lady and of our Mother and I pray for you and your dear families.
