We had a large garden back in the 80's and a dear friend had brought the sisters out to our home, and we picked all the vegetables we had and gave them to the sisters to take back with them and give them to the poor of St. Louis. Blessed Teresa was in town for a mass in her honor. Blessed Teresa had invited about 6 of us, to come to her home in St. Louis before mass. We all sat around in a circle and answered questions some of the ladies had. We had several ladies that did all the talking. So we didn't really get to talk to her. But yet still so blessed for having been there. I will never forget as we were leaving her home, Blessed Teresa stood by the door to say good bye to each of us and gave us each a hug. As I went to leave Blessed Teresa gave me hug, and held my hand as she looked into my yes. I have never before or have since been in the presence of a Holy Person. This was so evident to me, can't explain exactly how I felt, except I felt I was in the presence of Jesus. As she looked into my eyes, it seemed I was lost in time, it was only a matter of minutes, but it seemed I had stood there with her for an hour. As she looked into my eyes, I felt she was looking into my heart, I felt so much love in her presence. I have never felt this before. I believe she in that short time, was able to read my heart, and I felt so loved, and accepted. At mass I remember I was watching her, and after communion Blessed Teresa was bowed in prayer the whole time others were receiving the Eucharist. I remember as if it was yesterday, the humility, that had that surrounded her. I have been so blessed to have that short time with Blessed Teresa and I have never forgotten that meeting. I will always feel so blessed to have been in the presence of Blessed Teresa, for it was being in the presence of Christ. I felt today that Mother Teresa was so present. I realized this week that I have been carrying with me one medal that was touched to Mother's tomb, that you sent me. I had given the others to my prayer group members, but found myself wondering why I had it with me...that somehow it belonged to someone else. Today I went to a wedding. The aunt and uncle of the bride had come in to Louisiana from Texas for the wedding. With them was one of their sons, adopted over 25 years ago through Mother Teresa. I suddenly remembered the medal at Mass, and I felt so much that I was supposed to give him the medal...I didn't know if he would really treasure it, so I spoke with his mother about it. She told me... that although he has never seemed discontent, he now is trying to put together his heritage with his life. So, I gave him the medal. He was genuinely touched and said how much this meant to him. I believe that Mother was reaching out to comfort him and to help him now, as an adult, to connect the parts of his life through her help. As a youngster, before he was adopted, he had polio and paralysis from the neck down. He now walks with crutches and has a job working for AT&T. That encounter became a gift to me. I had only seen this young man once as a youngster, when he was 6 or 7.

Mother Teresa love is touching so many people... Mothers love for the sick is known far and wide and of course devotion to the sick ... . All the sick I gave the relic to promised to pray for your Mission... As I get in touch with the sick I am so surprised at the amount of sick there are... It is interesting to see the different reason, that people respect Mother. One person said her thirst for the Lord. Another Her devotion to the poor. Still another, her Faith, still another her mind over matter defeat was not a word she understood. Too me Mother meant every person you meet has a living Jesus in them, and by our example of love others can see Jesus. What amazing person she was, I have some none Catholic friends and you say Mother Teresa and by her action ...

Hello, My name is Paul and I felt called to go to Calcutta in 1990 which i did for 2 months. I took a leave of absence from my job and went alone. I met numerous volunteers form all over the world and most of all had the wonderful privilege of meeting and learning from Mother Teresa. She gave two retreats for a few hours on different days to us and it was amazing to be in her presents. I had been volunteering in a small hospice in Rochester NY when I felt the call to go. When I told the staff and patients, the patients wanted to make rosaries for me to bring to Mother so I did. They and the staff made numerous rosaries and when I presented Mother with them she got this big smile and said, “Oh thank you so much. I love to give Rosaries to others". When she approached me I was nervous but as she walked closer and closer I felt the nervousness and anxiety fall from me like a waterfall and I was calm and at peace. I remember sensing the incredible aura of humility around her and her attention was so intense at that moment with me....I could feel the pure love she had and it was authentic and real - a love I don’t think I had ever experienced. Most of all, however, I learned so many things from Mother and she shaped the way I am today. I liked her simply way of teaching thru example and not so much thru words. “It is not how much we do but how much love we put in the doing". That is my favorite saying of hers.... Paul
