Mother Teresa and I have been partners for sometime now. Seven years ago I went to Venezuela and was so lucky to visit with the Sister who took care of these children that no one wanted. I made a vow to help these children when I came Home. God has allowed me the grace to be able to send money every month. God gave me the Sisters to raise me and I receive the privilege to help others

Even though I was born and raised in Southern India, I never had the opportunity to go anywhere near Calcutta, India where this beautiful and simple woman worked and lived among the poor. We moved to Philadelphia, PA in 1992 and have lived here ever since. I always found Mother Teresa incredibly inspirational. I purchased a book on her 3 or 4 years ago. More than a year ago, I was going through a very rough time in my new marriage with pressure from my in-laws to go to their church which was not catholic. I found myself having sleepless nights and filled with terrible anxiety. But thanks to all the sites out there with Mother Teresa's quotes and prayers, I stayed in tact. I believe I got through this rough time due to her intercession. During one of those awful sleepless nights I saw Mother Teresa's face in a dream and just knew she was praying for me and that I would be alright. We are so blessed to have this soldier in heaven who is ready to intercede on our behalf. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Mother Teresa!!

I was lucky enough to hear Mother Teresa in 1976 when she spoke to a group in Toledo, Ohio. I even stood a few feet from her in the lobby. She was so tiny and shy up close, but while speaking she was very eloquent, with a beautiful deep voice. She answered a few questions from the crowd. One person asked, "Of all the world, where is the poorest area you have ever been?" Without hesitation she said, "The United States." The gasp from the audience was universal. Here, she said, everyone is in a hurry. No one looks you in the eye. There is no time to love. A baby is in grave danger in utero in the United States. In the streets of Calcutta, the dying and poor have more love than she saw in the streets of the United States. She also said that if everyone simply took care of their relatives and neighbors, she would not have a job. Such simple but true words! When she died, I stayed up and watched the live broadcast of her funeral. It was so moving to see all these people of all religions. She had such an effect, not by preaching but by example. I think of her often.

To me, there is no greater miracle than to understand what/who Jesus is all about. I met Jesus through Mother Teresa’s work, beliefs, thinking although I never had the opportunity to see her face to face and I have not been a part of any of her missionary work. I was born in the Philippines, grew up and was raised a Catholic. I migrated to the United States in 1980. I’ve lived an average life but I never found the true meaning of Jesus in my life except now, at 50, seeing it through the eyes of Mother Teresa. Now, I am teaching my daughter, Elizabeth what “Spirituality” and “Jesus” is all about, by talking to her about Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa’s work gave me the answer that reconciled the doubts I have about Jesus as Son of God.

I have been reading about Mother Teresa since my early teens. I am now 48. I wrote to her at the Missionaries of Charity and I got a note back saying that Mother Teresa was traveling but they were thankful for my words. There is so much talk of power in this world, whom is better than whom, who makes more money, who kills more than others. But there is no talk of grace, a gift so rare and powerful that few of us will glimpse it in our entire lifetimes. Only a handful of people possesses that trait and none more than Mother Teresa. Her life of devotion to others is just summed up in that one word, grace. She has a profound impact on my life; I carry blue rosary beads with her face on them in her honor. My one regret is that I never met her personally.
