Where there is error, I may bring truth

( December 6 - January 2)

Where there is error, I may bring truth

Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth; and God has placed in the human heart a desire to know the truth—in a word, to know himself—so that, by knowing and loving God, men and women may also come to the fullness of truth about themselves. (cf. Ex 33:18; Ps 27:8-9; 63:2-3; Jn 14:8; 1 Jn 3:2).
(Fides et Ratio )

With his shining presence, Jesus dispelled the darkness of error and sin and brought humanity the joy of the dazzling divine light, ... I hope you will accept in your hearts the gift of his joy, peace and love. Believing in Christ means letting oneself be enveloped by the light of his truth which gives full significance, value and meaning to our lives, for precisely by revealing to us the mystery of the Father and his love for man, he also fully reveals man to himself and brings to light his most high calling (cf. Gaudium et Spes, n. 22).
(Address of his Holiness Benedict XVI to a Delegation from upper Austria whose region donated the Christmas Tree  for St Peter's Square)

The Christian's life is a life of faith, founded on the Word of God and nourished by it. In the trials of life and in every temptation, the secret of victory lies in listening to the Word of truth and rejecting with determination falsehood and evil.
to listen to the word of truth, to live, speak and do what is true, to refuse falsehood that poisons humanity and is the vehicle of all evils.
It is therefore urgently necessary … to listen anew to the Gospel, the Word of the Lord, the word of truth, so that in every Christian, in every one of us, the understanding of the truth given to him, given to us, may be strengthened, so that we may live it and witness to it. ...
Let the Word of God penetrate our life and thus to know the fundamental truth:  who we are, where we come from, where we must go, what road to take in life.

WEEK 1

<<<Wallpapers with Scripture:

These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts (Zech 8:16).

My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins (James 5:19-20).

<<<Wallpapers with Mother Teresa's Words:

When I was now in Oslo, they told me I had disturbed the Parliament because I spoke very strongly against abortion. I said that abortion is nothing but murder, a mother murdering her own child. I asked also: “Who was the first person to receive Christ, to acknowledge His presence? It was the unborn child” When Mary came with haste into Elizabeth’s house, the little child in the womb of his mother leaped with joy acknowledging the presence of Jesus. So he was the first human being, besides Our Lady, the first human being to recognize the presence of Christ. So I want you to pray very specially that we bring this more and more: that we really preserve the life of God in the unborn child….

I was surprised the other day, after I had spoken, everybody, even the king, came up said: “Thank you for speaking, nobody could have spoken as you spoke.” I prayed to God before I spoke. Afterwards this priest came to me and said: “Show a little mercy on those mothers that are doing that, don’t be so hard on that.” I said: “Father, I need to tell the truth and Jesus said: “I am the truth”, and we have to tell the truth and it is for them to use it or leave it.” …

I think you priests have a very delicate work to do. This is why I am appealing to you because very much depends on you. How you direct the conscience of the people, especially in such a delicate thing as destroying the child. The other day I read in some paper millions now are being destroyed all over the world. You can help the sisters by your prayers and also by giving the people that come to you [for] advice. Teach them what is the truth. Then guide them to what is the right thing to do. Find out where are the places the people can be taught the right thing. This is what I am asking you do. And this is a tremendous help for the Kingdom of God. To help the conscience of our young people; to guide them without committing sin. This is what is so beautiful. Many people say: “I am planning my family without committing sin, with my conscience perfectly clean.”

And so you who have the power of guiding, that is the greatest love you can show the soul, to help them have a clean conscience, to be at peace with God.

WEEK 2

<<<Wallpapers with Scripture:

And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will (2 Tim 2:24-26).

<<<Wallpapers with Mother Teresa's Words:

"People will talk all kinds of things. One father came and started discussing [about] the Blessed Sacrament. He was trying to convince me that after the Mass is over, there is no longer the Real Presence in the Host. After some time I said to him: “Father, what you say to me I will never accept and what I say to you, you will never accept. So let us not discuss. Better that we part as friends.” So he went away. I heard later that he began to reconsider his views and eventually came back to the teaching of the Church."

"My prayer [for] you, Brothers—I beg of you, be faithful to the gift of God that has been entrusted to you—to teach. You are the only light today amongst the young people. The future of the whole world depends on what you make them. You can make them and you can break them. You are the only one that can, as teachers, stand before them as the presence of Christ. May the young people entrusted to you be able always to see Christ in you and like that be filled with His purity, with His goodness and justice because today especially, the young are misled and you are the people who lead to God. People are hungry—especially the young, are hungry for God and you are there to satisfy the hunger. Be faithful to the great gift of God to you—to be teachers, to be the light—His light—in the world amongst young people."

WEEK 3

<<<Wallpapers with Scripture:

Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (2 Tim 2:2-4)

Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (Mt 5:19)

<<<Wallpapers with Mother Teresa's Words:
...

"The Holy Father is insisting, “Proclaim the good news.” Teach the people the Ten Commandments, the I Believe [the Creed], teach them to respect their parents, to love Our Lady and the Blessed Sacrament. They need this, not any theological explanation or discussion. You will see the difference; you will see the people crowding into the churches."

"Try very hard to give glory to God through Christ, the Truth. Christ alone is the Truth that cannot deceive and the true Way that leads to the Father. – He alone is the true Life worth living and He alone can love with a true and undivided love. Jesus, the Truth, today and every day, wants to live His life – the truth – in us and through us in our community and in the poor. – To be able to do so, we shall begin in a very simple way: Speak the truth – think the truth – act the truth – with God and His Church, with each other and with ourselves. – Let us be very sincere in our dealings with each other…"

WEEK 4

<<<Wallpapers with Scripture:

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work (Eph 4:14-16)

"If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31-32)

<<<Wallpapers with Mother Teresa's Words:

Light His Light of truth in every person’s life, so that God can continue loving the world through you and me.

How wonderful it is, the tenderness of God's love for us. And it is this that you have to carry out in the world of today.
This expectation your parents, your relations, your friends, even the whole world, is expecting: that you be that light. The light that Jesus said: "I am the life that you must light, I am the truth that you must speak, I am the joy that you must share, I am the light that you must lead, I am the love that you must love. Go with that: the joy of loving.

May Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace and fount of merciful love, guide us all in His way, truth, and life.

<<<Wallpapers with Prayer for the month:

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, you showed us the beauty of a life lived in and for love and you never stop reminding us that we are all “created for greater things, to love and be loved." Help us to live, like you, a life of love that is worthy of our calling as children of God. Amen.

Lord make me a channel of your peace,
that where there is error, I may bring truth.
