My name is Elizabeth and I am 6 months pregnant.  The baby I am carrying is an "anencephaly baby", meaning it has "no brain".  The baby will not survive without a miracle.  I am due June 5, 2005.  My father suggested that we pray to Mother Theresa for our miracle, and to possibly aid in her beatification.  He also suggested that I try to notify Mother Theresa's sisters or someone connected with her canonization process.  I do not know if I am contacting the right people.  If not, do you have any information for me?  Please contact me either way.

Dear Elizabeth,

May the peace of Jesus fill your heart!

Thank you for your e-mail.

We are uniting with you in prayer of intercession for the health of your little one to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. Mt 7:7; Mk 11:24; Lk 1:37!

Thank you for valuing the life of the child that God has entrusted to you as a precious gift.

We would be very happy to send you a relic and a Novena to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta if you send us your mailing address.

In order for a miracle to be considered for the cause of a canonization of a Blessed, it needs to be shown that only Our Lord, Our Lady, and that particular Blessed were invoked in prayer.  Any medical documentation that can be collected is very useful, especially copies of medical scans and doctor's reports, should a healing take place.

Please pray that the message of Mother Teresa through the work we are doing, may shine forth in the world of today, that "God still loves the world through you and through me today;" that the poorest of the poor, the unwanted, the lonely, the rejected and each one of us may know and experience how much God loves us personally.

God bless you and keep you in His Love, you and your family especially your little one.

Please kindly keep us in your prayers.

Sincerely in Jesus,

Sr. M. Mary, MC

I wanted to let you know that there are people praying for you, especially through the intercession of Blessed Teresa, throughout the world!  Your intention has been placed on her tomb in Calcutta and there are some who are praying for you and your little one every day.

May Our Lady guide you by the hand!

Dear Sr. M. Mary, MC,

Thank you so much for writing.  I have to tell you that I came to check my e-mail today with the intent of e-mailing you!  And here I find that you wrote me.  What a coincidence?  I have been hanging in there but my time is getting short.  I am due June 5th.  John is doing well.  He lives and thrives inside of me.  He continues to grow and kick.   I seem to be struggling a whole lot more.  At times I just feel here but seem to be functioning in a daze.  Are you familiar with the painting "The Forgiven"?  It has Jesus holding up a man who is just limp.  That kind of explains how I feel.  I am definitely being carried by Jesus and the angels and saints.  I continue to pray many times throughout the day to Blessed Teresa, as does my family and close friends.  I am so, so grateful to the many people who are also praying.  I just do not feel worthy to have so many prayers on my behalf.  Also I want to say thanks for my intention being put on Blessed Teresa's tomb.

I needed to write today to ask if there was a way I could get more copies of the novena book to Blessed Teresa.  My dad would like to pass more out to his spiritual friends.  Just let me know what I need to do.

Thank you,

Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth,

May Our Blessed Mother, who carried our Lord in her, comfort you and guide you through these last difficult months!

We are preparing the novenas to send to you, so hopefully they will go out in the mail today (if not, Friday is the next opportunity).

You know, I had a strong, re-occurring impulse to write to you on Sunday!  There are "no mere accidents in the plan of God"!  Your due date is exactly nine months after the first celebration of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta's Feast (September 5, 2004)!

The evil one, who has no mercy or love for humanity, will work on your faith and hope in this time of physical and emotional trial, especially because you are putting your trust so firmly in God.

One of the mysteries of Love is it is given completely, freely, without conditions. Love has no self-interest.

God's own selfless love is reflected, as in a little shaft of light, by the unconditional love with which you choose to accept your son: sick or healthy, long or short life.  Pour out all your love on little John!!!!

Love conquers!

United in prayer, your sister in Jesus,

Sr. M. Mary, MC

Dear Sr. M. Mary, MC,

Peace and love in Jesus!

I will pray for Baby John! Please tell Elizabeth to place Mother's

picture on her stomach the day before or at the time of labour pain and pray the novena for Mother's Canonization. If they begin the novena today, it ends up on the 5th June, the 9th day! I will say the prayer every day at Mother's

Tomb from today onward. God's will be done. All for His glory!

In Jesus,

Sr. M. Ann MC

Sr. M. Mary, MC,

Thank you so much for all that you are doing, especially your prayers.  I am so grateful to all who are praying.  My family started the novena together a few days ago.  We meet every night along with a big group of dedicated friends and say the prayers.  There is no doubt in my mind that there will be a miracle in some way.  The prayers are just too great.  God is just so good.

Well I have to enter the hospital Tuesday, so there is a possibility of me giving birth any where between Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday, June 1st.  I will make sure someone e-mails you to let you know.

Thanks and Love,

Elizabeth and John

Even though there was no physical healing of John, miracles have already begun to happen.  We are all starting our own healing process.

These are pictures of my little John.  He was born June 1st, 2005, at 12 noon, weighing 6lbs 2oz, 16 1/2in long.  He was loved by so many people.  He lived a full 3 1/2 beautiful days.  He left us at midnight June 5th.  We will bury him Tuesday, June 7th, in the family cemetery.  Please continue to pray for the family.

With Love,

Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth,

May the peace of Jesus and Our Blessed Mother comfort you!

It is hard to put in words anything that could adequately express our sympathy for you and your family and also our gratitude for your example of courage and love.

You are in our prayers: one day, may we all rejoice together with our little John, for all eternity!

God bless you!

[The following reflection was the subject of this e-mail.]

John’s Saga

We prayed and prayed for your arrival to be miraculous,

but God in His Divine Knowledge turned our prayers for you into prayers for ourselves;

because God knew He did not need to heal John, He sent John to heal us!!!

John David has opened the doors of our lives to God

by strengthening our faith, deepening our love, and opening our hearts.

He gave us the desire to lay down our lives for others,

just as Jesus laid His life down for us.

He showed us that a mother weeping over her child is just as Mary wept for hers.

He reminded us that the holding of a little hand around our finger

is just how Jesus wants to hold us.

He enlightened our ears to the sound of a crying child is the beautiful sound of life.

He illustrated to us the smile on a face is how we should treat others,

and the blink of a baby’s eye is how we should look out upon the world.

And an infant’s dependency on his parents should reflect our total dependency on God.

It is by John’s life and death, God reminds all of us how precious one little life can be,

even if it is only for a few days, all of life is precious to God.

These are just a few of the beautiful lessons John has taught us,

and yet we never know how much we can learn from a child,

because God comes in many different shapes and sizes.

So maybe after all of this, our miracle did occur, because we are always praying,

“God if only I could see you, touch you, or kiss your face, I would have greater faith.”

We did see, touch, and kiss the face of God when we were given John.

Dear Elizabeth,

What a beautiful response to these painful graces that God has granted you!  He knew He could trust you to be patient until He would be able to reveal to you the full glory of what you are now suffering.

I can imagine Mother beaming her special smile down upon you, with John in her arms.

Thank you once again and may God bless you!  Please keep us in your prayers!

 Your sister in Jesus,
