Anfänge der

Missionarinnen der Nächstenliebe

 

                                                1946

                                    10. September „Tag der Eingebung“

                                                   Auf eine Zugfahrt von Kalkutta nach Darjeeling

                                                   empfängt sie ihre „Berufung innerhalb der

                                                   Berufung“, „den unendlichen Durst Jesu am

                                                   Kreuz nach Liebe und Seelen zu stillen“, „indem sie an

                                                   der Rettung und Heiligung der Ärmsten der Armen arbeitet“.

                                                   Aus dieser Berufung sollte die Ordensfamilie der

                                                   Missionarinnen und Missionare der Nächstenliebe (MC)

                                                   entstehen. Sie empfängt eine Folge von Eingebungen

                                                   von Offenbarungen, die bis Mitte 1947 anhalten.

 

                                                1948

                                    12. April

                                                   Papst Pius XII. gewährt ihr die Exklaustrierung, d. h. mit

                                                   Erlaubnis des Heiligen Stuhls verlässt sie den abgegrenzten

                                                   Bereich der Loreto-Ordensgemeinschaft, um ihre Mission

                                                   unter den Ärmsten der Armen auf den Straßen von

                                                   Kalkutta zu beginnen.

 

                                    17. August

                                                   Verlässt die Loreto-Ordensgemeinschaft, zum ersten Mal

                                                   mit dem weißen Sari mit blauem Rand bekleidet, und geht

                                                   nach Patna, um bei den Missionsärztlichen Schwestern in

                                                   Vorbereitung ihrer neuen Mission einen medizinischen

                                                   Kurs zu absolvieren.

 

                                    9. Dezember

                                                   Kehrt zurück nach Kalkutta und absolviert achttägige

                                                   Exerzitien, im Hause der Kleinen Schwestern der Armen.

 

                                    21.-23. Dezember

                                                   Erste Tage unter den Armen in den Elendsvierteln von

                                                   Kalkutta: Taltala und Pan Bagan.

 

                                    26. Dezember

                                                   Erster Besuch im Elendsviertel Tiljala.

 

                                    27.-28. Dezember

                                                   Besucht das Elendsviertel Motijhil, liest Straßenkinder auf

                                                   und eröffnet ihre erste Slumschule.

                                                   Zieht in das Obergeschoß des Hauses der Familie Gomes in

                                                   der 14 Creek Lane.

 

                                    19. März

                                                   Erste Kandidatin, Subashini Das (Schwester Agnes MC),

                                                   schließt sich Mutter Teresa an.

 

 

 

Die neue Kongregation

                                                1950

                                    7. Oktober

                                                   Der Orden der Missionarinnen der Nächstenliebe wird

                                                   mit zunächst 12Schwestern am Festtag Unserer Lieben

                                                   Frau vomRosenkranz als Kongregation nach Diözesanrecht

                                                   Erzdiözese Kalkutta unter dem Episkopat

                                                   von Ferdinand Périer, SJ offiziell gegründet.

 

                                                  Diesen Tag begehen die Missionarinnen der Nächstenliebe

                                                  seither alljährlich mit einer ganztägigen Eucharistischen

                                                   Anbetung als ihren „Danksagungstag“.

                                                   der Seligen Jungfrau Maria.

                                                   Erhält die indische Staatsbürgerschaft.

                                                   Gründet die Gemeinschaft der kranken und leidenden

                                                  weniger seit dem Beginn“ ihrer Arbeit verspürte.

                                                   Gründet in Ranchi ihre erste Mission außerhalb des

                                                   Ballungsraums von Kalkutta.

                                                   Erste Auslandsreise, zum Zentralkongress

                                                   des National Council of Catholic Women in

                                                   Las Vegas im US-Bundesstaat Nevada.

                                                   Nach 11 Jahren lernt sie „die Dunkelheit zu lieben“ und

                                                   merkt, dass diese zur spirituellen Seite ihrer Arbeit gehört

                                                   und zur Identifikation mit den Ärmsten der Armen, den

                                                   Ungewollten und den Ungeliebten dient.

                                                   Schreibt offenen Brief an die Präsidenten der Vereinigten

                                                  Staaten und des Irak, um den Krieg abzuwenden.

                                                   Erleidet einen Herzinfarkt und unterzieht sich in den USA einer Angioplastie.

                                                   Unterzieht sich einer Herzoperation.

                                                   Stirbt im Alter von 87 Jahren im

                                                   Mutterhaus in Kalkutta.

                                                   Erhält ein Staatsbegräbnis und wird im Mutterhaus

                                    10 September “Inspiration Day”

                                                   On a train journey from Calcutta to

                                                   Darjeeling, receives the “call within a call”

                                                   to “quench the infinite thirst of Jesus on the Cross

                                                   for love and souls” by “laboring at the salvation and

                                                   sanctification of the poorest of the poor”. This call

                                                   was to give rise to the Missionaries of Charity (MC)

                                                   family.  Begins to receive a series of interior

                                                   locutions that continues until mid-1947.

 

                                                1948

                                    12 April

                                                   Decree of Exclaustration granted by Pope Pius XII -

                                                   permission from the Holy See to leave Loreto in

                                                   order to begin her mission among the poorest of the

                                                   poor in the streets of Calcutta.

 

                                    17 August

                                                   Leaves Loreto, wearing a white, blue-bordered

                                                   sari for the first time, and goes to Patna for a medical

                                                   course with the Medical Mission Sisters as

                                                   preparation for her new mission.

 

                                    9 December

                                                   Returns to Calcutta and makes an eight-day retreat,

                                                   staying with the Little Sisters of the Poor.

 

                                    21-23 December

                                                   First days among the poor in Calcutta slums: Taltala

                                                   This day, known as “Thanksgiving Day”, is

                                                   commemorated annually by the MC sisters with

                                                   all-day Eucharistic Adoration.
