A book about Mother Teresa I left on the table so everyone could see? Well, in the middle of that dark night it was sitting right in front of me on our coffee table, and she was looking up at me from its cover. Those eyes, those piercing eyes and severe expression filled with unrelenting compassion for "the poorest of the poor". I began to cry. "Mother", I said, "help me". I never really thought much about Mother Teresa, nor her cause. I knew she helped some poor people in Africa maybe or some place in that direction, but unfortunately that was it. However, over the next few hours and long in to the night and to the sunrise, I read. I looked. I saw. "More, more, always more," she told her critics. But she had nothing! No financial support, no help, no moral support, just endless critics and nay Sayers and even worse, as I have experienced myself, evil doers all around her work just waiting for the opportunity to disrupt her mission somehow. As you know, there are so many things she said that move and inspire one to press on against all odds, but it's really in what she did and continues to do to this day through her sisters and her intercession that make us act for the better. Day in and day out she has proven to the world what genuine true love can do if only we turn to the One who is all love, for all time, and in all circumstances. Now I ask you to forgive me for my long dissertation, but it's not easy talking about Mother Teresa and having little to say! So, I shall close with this: I have never met the Holy woman that many have. I have never seen her shining face or felt her loving embrace. I have never touched her hands or even strained my ears to hear her calls for charity in the distance. But I have been touched by her, and like so many countless others, my life has been irreversibly changed and I will never be the same again. Thank you Mother Teresa, for now I understand what it means to "thirst"! I love you!

Mother Teresa visited me once and I felt loved by God when with her

I have long loved M. Teresa since I met her in person in the early 1970's. However, over the years after hearing and reading many times over Mother's message, I began to think "She says nothing new!" I did not discount what she taught, but it seemed repetitive. However to hear her speak was a different matter, and one was always touched spiritually by the way she spoke. Nevertheless it was not until she died and the stories of her great aridity and dark night surfaced that I became utterly amazed and edified. Because she was so well known, I took her for granted, much the same as St. Therese, the Little Flower, her namesake, was regarded by her fellow sisters. I realized that she was indeed like the little Flower and in some ways 'personified' the 'little way' of St. Therese! It seems to me that she lived it concretely! And then to know that Mother lived without consolation in a spiritual dark night of the soul! My heart was rent with deepest contrition and moved with genuine devotion and praise and thanksgiving that God has given us such a saint! To me this is the real miracle of her life, the whole of which is nothing else but the authentic living of the Gospel!

I have been reading the website on Blessed Mother Teresa. Whenever I think of Mother I feel my heart lift and a smile crosses my face. She is an inspiration to me to be gentle and to modesty and humility. It seems that she is part of my family although I never knew or met her. Still it seems she is near us and that is a comfort.

Hello, Mother Teresa has changed my life and helped me to understand God as well as my own calling to love others. It has been through her example and that of the MCs that I have been privileged to know that I have grown in my own faith and trust in God. It was her influence primarily that turned my life around and the process of metanoia in my life continues to this day!
